Director’s Notes

In this segment, Don discusses

  • Figuring out the Dramatic question of your writing. What does the audience need to know before they go home.

  • Not writing too much. Once the question is answered the story is over.

  • Only keep things that further the story, even if it's really funny or good.

  • How experience helps as a writer. Writing your 100th play is easier than your 1st.
