  • The importance of being prepared. Know the show and know the part you are auditioning for. 

  • Knowledge is power in all situations.

  • Have an organized binder (often called your "book") that's representative of you, and includes things from multiple genres. 

  • Look polished, do your research, and know what you are going in for. 

About Katharine Heaton

Katharine Heaton has been performing professionally since she started pounding the NYC pavement 20 years ago, following 2 successful degree programs at New York University. She has sung with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, on Broadway stages, at Yankee Stadium, across North America in several Broadway Across America touring productions and even beside James Taylor for his One Man Band tour. She loves singing all genres from pop to Opera. Most recently, she could be seen at New York City's landmark Majestic Theatre in The Phantom of the Opera on Broadway, where she has performed 7 female roles! She is also the co-founder and President of a growing nationwide nonprofit to honor her late sister, Maureen Heaton Foundation.
